Metrofern create bright rhythm-driven jazz and funk on new album
(Published: November 01, 2019)

Metrofern is a band with a focus on creating bright, rhythm-driven music that's inspired by some of the best jazz and funk out there. Their sound is pleasantly modern, yet it also has a fun retro feel, tipping the hat off to groups such as Vulfpeck or Big Mean Sound Machine, just to name a few.

On this self-titled record, you'll be able to find a selection of 11 songs, each with a rather distinctive flavor. There is also room for an extended suite, "Bonnie & Clyde," which evolves over the span of three parts. This song is a testament to the band's uniquely inventive style, and a focus on the group's ability to incorporate so many different elements in their sonic formula and aesthetics.

On songs like "Everybody Knows Why," the band's sharp abilities are even more easily demonstrated.

If you are a fan of artists as diverse as Calibro 35, or The Menahan Street band, this one's for you.
